Letrário's social responsibility project is called Our
Hearts are Organic. We want to do everything we can to
promote digital reading in order to prevent the unnecessary
felling of trees.
As
ecology begins at home, first we conducted a thorough study
of all moments when paper can be replaced by digital media
and systematically made these replacements. Then we
exchanged our photocopier for a scanner. And we have all got
into the habit of reusing every sheet of paper until there
is no space left on it.
On our
website, we have created a publisher of short stories in
Portuguese for everyone to read. There, anyone whose writing
is of sufficient quality and who wants to benefit from a
free revision by Letrário can publish short stories. We
publicise all new stories and new authors.
We
regularly post news on advances in digital reading and on
the ill-treatment of trees on our planet.
We
sponsored a Ficus macrophylla in the Lisbon Tropical
Botanic Garden to commemorate our tenth anniversary.
